Cutting the Costs of a Wedding
If you were to look at a list of life’s biggest expenses, having a wedding is certainly up there with the biggest ones. And if you find yourself on a tight budget, you will want to find ways of reducing your overall bill.
At the same time, you don’t want to sacrifice the quality and special nature of your big day. One potential option is to look into wedding loans with a guarantor. While you may not want to put all the following ideas into place, some of them may come in handy. Let’s dive right in!
Send Digital Invitations
The amount of mail being sent has dropped drastically over the past few years as more and more correspondence has moved online. If you have professionally-printed wedding invitations created and sent out, this can end up costing you significant sums of cash. But if you send e-invites out to everyone’s email addresses, your guests are not in danger of losing the invites and they can also RSVP easily.
Give Guests Photographer Duties
If you hire a professional photographer for the whole day, this can end up getting very expensive. Instead, you could pass over professional photographer duties to your guests since everyone carries a smartphone with them at all times. Otherwise, you could put disposable cameras on each table and have all of the pictures printed afterward. Another option is to get a photo booth and some costumes, which is a very popular option at modern weddings.
Choose a Buffet
Buying dinner for tens of guests is inevitably going to be one of the biggest expenses of your wedding day, so rather than having a sit-down meal, you could instead look into having a buffet. This can cut your catering bill my as much as a third. Otherwise, you could look into sharing meals such as a hog roast.
Cut Back on Free Booze
If you have an open bar all night, this is bound to get very expensive, very quickly. Especially since you are likely to have people going crazy and pouring as much down their throats as possible! A potential compromise is to limit it to beer, wine, and soft drinks. Otherwise, just paying for the champagne of the wedding breakfast is perfectly fine as well.
Hire Amateur Musicians
You don’t necessarily need to hire a professional band or DJ as your wedding entertainment. You could hire some friends or else scout out the local bar or pub scene to unearth the next big talent. And especially if you just want a DJ, there are plenty of people who fancy themselves pretty skilled behind the decks!
