It’s Your Wedding- MAKE it UP

You want to look your absolute best on the day of your wedding. Not only is the spotlight on you the whole day, but also thousands of pictures will be taken and looked back on for years to come! Don’t look back at them saying, “I wish.” Here a few tips on looking your absolute best on your special day:

1.     Trial runs!! Whether you are doing your own makeup, or getting it done, practice a few times with the exact products you will be using the day of your wedding. Like they say, practice makes perfect!

2.     Natural vs. Fake: Many brides don’t apply very much makeup because they are going for more of a natural look. I promise you a little more makeup than you think will go along way, even if you want that natural look!

3.     Don’t skimp on cover-up. The finish of your skin is one of the most important focal points in your wedding album. You want your face to look flawless. Make sure you are applying evenly more cover-up to your skin than normal.

4.     Apply more blush than you think you should! A little more blush can go along way! You need that color in your cheeks to really emphasize your look. With that extra color on your face, you will pop out more walking down the aisle and in all your wedding pictures!

5.     Lipstick is a must! More is better! Go a shade or two darker than you would normally wear. This is a must for your appearance and for your pictures. If you think there is too much lipstick on when you look in the mirror, that means it probably looks awesome to guests, and it will look awesome in pictures.

6.     Water proof/ Cry proof makeup. We all know the day of your wedding can get a bit emotional. You don’t want your make up to be running off your face! Make sure your eye makeup is melt and smudge proof! Makeup is one thing not to cheat out on for the day of your wedding!

7.     Don’t forget to bring with you touch up makeup. Whatever you used earlier that day carry close with you, in case you need to reapply. Most likely you will want to reapply anyway!

History of the Engagement Ring

Weddings are such a wonderful occasion and more often than not, the bride is the centre of attention for the day. When the bride walks down the aisle, everyone inevitably clamours to see what she has chosen to wear. The wedding dress is a wonderful piece of fashion which truly allows the bride to become a princess for a day.

Traditionally, the wedding dress is chosen with great care by the bride. She may also involve the opinion of her sisters if she has them or close friends. The bride’s mother is usually involved at this stage also. Choosing a dress can be an emotional experience as it finally dawns on the bride that the big occasion is approaching.

Weddings and the celebrations connected to the occasion may have changed over the years but the high esteem that the wedding dress is held in certainly has not diminished. Fashions and trends in wedding dresses have definitely changed and will continue to do so but the importance of the bride’s dress will never diminish.

This info-graphic covers the evolution of wedding attire and mainly wedding dresses, since the turn of the 20th century. It looks at what trends have come over this time and what we come to know today as the wedding dress.

Wabeek Country Club: Jamie + Ted 9/20/2014

Mother of the Bride Sue contacted You're The Bride to help coordinate her daughter Jamie's September nuptials and we were happy to lend a hand. Jamie and Ted tied the knot at Cross of Christ Church in Bloomfield Hills, MI. on a beautiful September day. The reception was held at Wabeek Country Club also in Bloomfield Hills, MI.

The YTB team arrived at Wabeek prior to the ceremony to help ensure set up of the reception was going smoothly. We assisted in setting up the escort card table, distributed wedding favors to each place setting, and set up a beautiful memorial table for the happy couple.

We headed over to the church to make sure everything was ready for the wedding to begin. The church staff was very friendly and a joy to work with. We set up the unity candle and helped pin boutonniere's while Jamie and her maids had their photos taken on the church grounds. The ceremony was beautiful and intimate, Jamie and Ted smiled as they waited to meet each other at the altar.

After the ceremony, guests departed for the cocktail hour and YTB transported the altar arrangements to Wabeek for the reception. Once there we put the finishing touches on the reception space and then it was time to get things started. If there was one word to describe the feel of this reception it would be "party". The dance floor started to fill up before dinner even got started! The dance floor was packed all night long and everyone clearly had a blast.

Congratulations Ted & Jamie!
