Italian American Banquet Hall Livonia ~ Tania + Dan 9/14/13

What a great day it was for this couple so surrounded by love. Everyone was just so excited for their wedding especially Tania's Mother Maria. I loved working with this family and helping them make everything come together on the long awaited day.

Our Team started at the Italian American Club in Livonia with some setup including table numbers, place cards, favors and overall making sure things were ready for guest arrival.  We then headed over to the church and helped the florist put the pew bows on and get altar arrangements and Tania's unity candle in place.

We did have a few issues to tend to once we were on site. One set of button covers and a pocket square was missing so Rachel and Karoline quickly had the groomsmen share a set since once the jacket is buttoned up and you can't see them anyways. Rachel remembered we had a color swatch in our planning folder so she grabbed that and tucked it into the groomsmen's pocket so he would match as closely as possible and not be without one for the pictures.

When the girls arrived I noticed the limo was not very hot so the driver went and got another limo during the ceremony which was great to keep everyone cool. However, the second limo got a flat tire when they were taking pictures after the ceremony so that definitely put dinner and our timeline for the night behind. We did our best to keep things moving to make up for the limo trouble throwing our schedule off. Once the delicious Italian dinner was served everyone was ready to get on the dancefloor to burn off the calories from the pasta! We can't forget to mention the delectable dessert table at this wedding. Believe me nobody went home hungry!

Tania looked so beautiful and the flowers that she and her girls carried were simply amazing. Her Maid of Honor Candis sang a beautiful song Holy, Holy, Holy during the ceremony which made this event even more memorable with that special touch!

After the ceremony we moved the reception flowers back to the hall where we were able to use
them around the room for additional decor along with the pew bows that were embellished with flowers.

At the end of the night we packed up two vehicles with floral arrangements, gifts, leftover cake, fruit and desserts! They had a great celebration and we were so happy to be part of it!

One of my favorite moments of the day was the reaction on the guests face when they saw instead of a small typical favor that you receive when you go to a wedding that they actually received a wrapped present. I heard several guests talking about how nice the gift was. Are you wondering what it was ? They gave their guests a beautiful inscribed clock with the names and date of the bride and groom. The other side was a place to put a picture. Maria, Tania's Mom gave me one as a thank you gift  and I just love it !

Thank you for choosing us to share in your special day! Congratulations!

Reception Kisses

The other day one of my friends and I were discussing weddings and the different, creative and new aspects that are changing in the wedding world. One of the main traditions that happen at every wedding is when the quests clink their champagne glasses letting the bride and the groom know it is time for a big smooch!

But what if this changed as well. Like I stated before weddings have changed so much over the years. From the first look, having a man of honor in stead of a maid of honor, planting a tree verses having a unity candle and now glass clinking.

You may be asking yourself how could you change this part of a wedding. One great idea popped into my head! What if instead of having the bride and the groom kiss what if they pulled names of couples out of a hat and who ever's name they pulled they had to kiss instead.

Try this on your wedding day! This is a fun way to get your guests involved and to spread the love on your wedding day!

Let's Snuggle!

Fall weddings are some of the most beautiful. The changing of the leaves and the smells of pumpkin, maple, and cinnamon fill the air. Speaking of air, sometimes it tends to be a little chilly, especially if you are having an outdoor wedding. So instead of debating on small little favors to give your guests that they will never use again or throw away, why not provide them with a nice fleece blanket to keep warm! Everyone loves a good blanket, even just a throw. Guests will not think to bring a blanket to the ceremony and will be delighted to find you have so graciously thought ahead to provide them with one!
There are so many options to go with. Going with your color scheme is always a great choice. You can also do a fun themed fall blanked that is sure to jazz up and set the mood for your ceremony. I also love the idea of a personalized snuggie! Having them embroidered with unique sayings that your guests will enjoy is sure to add that special touch.
Here are a few websites that provide you with great prices and you can order them in bulk!

1.      Custom embroidered thick fleece blankets:
Order 24+ $7.00 a piece and $5.00 a line of embroiderery. www.crookedbrook.com/custom-embroidered-fleece-blankets.htm

2.      Solid color fleece blankets sold at wholesale
50x60 in blankets $6.50 a piece

3.      Great throws at great prices!
12-23      $8.99 each,  24-47 $6.99 each,  48-143 $5.99 each, 144-287  $5.75 each www.northeastfleece.com/throw_blanket.html

We hope your wedding is everything you have dreamed off and more! Just don’t forget to keep warm!

Congratulations on your engagement!

Fox Hills Golf Club Plymouth ~ Stephanie+ Kevin 8/10/13

Stephanie and Kevin were unbelievably in love! And everyone at the wedding knew it. Their wedding wasn't just filled with love but it was also filled with University of Michigan. Both Stephanie
and Kevin graduated from University of Michigan, that is where they met. All of the groomsmen had socks representing the school they went too. Out of the bunch, one groomsman received Penn State argyle and one Michigan State the rest were in Maize and Blue including the Groom!   The tables at the reception didn't have table numbers, instead they had table names! All of the names included places Stephanie and Kevin loved in Ann Arbor. One of the most creative idea's the You're The Bride team has seen this season!

The You're The Bride team absolutely fell in love with both Stephanie and Kevin's family! The whole day was full of smiles as soon as we started. You could tell the families were just as excited as we were the day of the wedding.

One of the best moments came before the ceremony when Stephanie and Kevin shared their first look! After seeing this both of the interns of Tracie have decided to have first looks when it's their time to get married. Not only did Stephanie and Kevin share a special moment as tears welled up in their eyes, so did the team as they watched this amazing couple share this moment together.

After all the butterflies disappeared when it was time for the ceremony to start! Everyone got lined up and waited to be escorted down the aisle. Stephanie and her father linked arms as they made their way.

After the ceremony was over Stephanie and Kevin had a classic car waiting for them outside! This allowed for some great and creative shots for their wedding.

The ceremony went off with a bang! University of Michigan and Ann Arbor was represented all over the hall! Stephanie and Kevin danced the night away, with giant smiles on their faces.

Stephanie and Kevin are a magical couple! We wish you all the happiness in the world!

Grosse Isle Country Club ~ Amy + Chad 7/6/13

Amy and Chad's wedding was a non-stop party! The whole time everyone wouldn't stop smiling and laughing. You could see the love for Amy and Chad fill the whole room. The wedding was filled with two of Amy's favorite colors purple and black.

When the You're The Bride team first met Amy we knew she was going to be a blast! As soon as she told us she was having a cheeto buffet our team was excited! In addition to the cheeto buffet Amy and Chad decided on cupcakes for their wedding. The flavors ranged from lemon to oreo! The table was filled with delicious cupcakes and there would never be a shortage.

Before the ceremony Chad and Amy shared a special moment. The pastor came into the room and said a prayer while Chad and Amy held hands without seeing each other. Tears were streaming down Amy's face and we all embraced in this special moment. Chad is a huge fan of golf. Not only was he excited to be getting married on a golf course but Amy had a little surprise for him. She told the team her and her bothers were riding up on a golf cart before she walked down the aisle. When she arrived in a golf cart Chad's face lit up!

After the ceremony the party began!  The photo booth opened and everyone loved it! During the reception dances Chad's daughter sang Amy and Chad's first dance song which was a very special moment for everyone.

Inside The You're The Bride Intern Experience

At the end of the season we ask our interns to complete a exit interview so we can find out what they
thought about the experience and how we can make it better. Here is what one of our recent intern's
thought about her experience.

What things did you enjoy about the internship?

I loved learning so much about the industry and how to deal with vendors and clients in a professional manner, as well as how a small business operates. Also how to deal with client conflicts.

Do you think it was a valuable experience?

Yes, it gave me a lot of insight on how the industry works and how many things go into the wedding planning process as well as how to deal with so many different vendors and get everything coordinated just right.

What was your favorite part of the experience while interning at You’re The Bride?

My favorite part was the mock wedding project we got to do at the end, it was awesome to plan something with creative freedom as well as all of the weddings, getting to see all of the halls after they were set up and guests were entering was awesome!

What did you dislike about the internship?

The only thing is that towards the end, it got really hard to be creative and come up with new topics for the blog that hadn't been done before, and i didn't want to repeat anything so it was somewhat of a struggle to find new and creative stuff.

Do you have any suggestions on how to change or make the internship better?

Not at this time that I can think of

Do you still have plans to either become a wedding planner while working for someone else or starting your own wedding business?

Its still in my mind but I think I am looking more towards corporate event planning for things like launch parties, I think it would be really interesting to sell a product and market it through an event and get to plan it all.

Royal Park Hotel Rochester ~ Gina + Terry 6/1/13

Gina and Terry's wedding would be best described as spectacular! From the centerpieces to their ceremony everything was a dream from the moment the You're The Bride team stepped on site to the moment the reception was over.

The day started at the Sacred Heart Church where Joe Darnell sang during the ceremony. The moment he started singing we knew it was going to be a beautiful day. At the church the flowers were absolutely stunning and when Gina walked down the aisle she made the church perfect. Her dress was a work of art, head to toe lace with a beautiful neck line. Her bridesmaids matched Gina's dress and they wore hot pink lace dresses.

After the ceremony ended the team headed to The Royal Park Hotel. We set up the party favors and much more. The party favors were so creative! Inside of the pink box there was a chocolate truffle with their last na,e initial drawn on and on top sat a silver Eiffel Tower. The hall was decorated beautifully. On the table they had gold napkin rings, gold chargers, floating candles and flower arrangements to die for!

The reception started when the bridal party arrived. Gina's family danced her and Terry into the hall and never stopped till the night was over. Gina and Terry's family was a joy to meet!

The You're The Bride team wishes you both all the happiness in the world!
